Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Hormones are chemical messengers that regulate nearly every system in the body. Your endocrine system releases precise amounts of hormones into the bloodstream to maintain homeostasis. When hormone production, secretion, or receptor sensitivity changes, an imbalance occurs. These changes are primarily caused by aging (menopause for women and andropause for men), chronic stress, childbirth, inflammation, chronic diseases, and environmental toxins.

Our name, Halcyon is inspired by the Greek word alkyon—a mythical bird sent to calm the wind and waves. It represents a serene state where the body and mind can reset. It’s when thriving becomes possible and energy feels new again. It’s the promise we make to our patients.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy has been proven to be the most effective treatment for hormonal imbalances, and has even shown long-term health benefits and prevention from chronic diseases. Even though prescribing the proper balance of estrogen, testosterone, progestrone, and thyroid has been proven time and time again, the gap in treatment has been perpetuated by undereducated providers who dismiss their patients’ concerns. Finally, the FDA has acknowledged the benefits of hormone therapy, admitting that the risks have been overstated. In July 2025, an expert panel recommended removing the black box warning for these treatments, an incredible step toward allocating more educational resources to providers.
Lab testing alone isn’t enough to properly diagnose or develop hormonal treatment plans. It takes a provider who listens, investigates, and looks deeper into the root causes of the imbalance.
Testosterone, growth hormone, and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) are crucial for muscle growth, and imbalances in these areas can cause loss of lean muscle tissue, leading to unexplained weight gain.
